The 5’7" tall Aureana, who weighs 120 lbs., is an AB in Business Marketing graduate from the University of Phoenix. She plans to pursue a master’s degree in business management from Hawaii Pacific University availing one of her Miss Hawaii USA prizes, a $14,000 scholarship.
In 2008, Aureana was named first runner-up to Miss Hawaii USA Jonelle Layfield. She was also Miss Hawaii Teen USA 1999 and competed in the Miss Teen USA 1999 pageant (won by Ashley Michelle Coleman of Delaware).
She was crowned as Miss Hawaii Filipina 2003, the same beauty title won by Celita Ochoa de Castro in 1975 (who’s also Miss Oahu Filipina 1974, Bb. Pilipinas 1976 first runner-up and Best in Swimsuit, Miss Hawaii USA 1977 and Miss USA 1977 semi-finalist).
A professional model and hula dancer, Aureana has traveled to 15 countries promoting the island’s culture and the famous Hawaiian dance, hula. After all, Aureana was Miss Aloha Hula 2007 first runner-up and Miss Aloha Hula 2008 third runner-up.
Before flying to Las Vegas for the national pageant, Aureana worked on a hula DVD (showcasing its benefits to one’s health) for commercial distribution and filmed a Hawaii episode for Bridget’s Sexiest Beaches hosted by The Girl Next Door star Bridget Marquardt. It will be aired over Travel Channel on April 16.
